Published in 2005 by the National Association of Home Builders and accredited by the ICC, the NAHB Model Green Home Building Guidelines succeeded in setting a nationally recognized standard for all Green Building Projects. The guidelines measure seven areas within the construction and implementation process; from lot preparation and design to maintenance and homeowner education. Points are earned in each area based upon the level of compliance to the guidelines. Ultimately, the Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Emerald rating will be assigned to your project.
